Yes. All 7 Pharmacy First conditions are fully funded by the NHS for eligible patients. You do not pay for the consultation or any medicines supplied under the service.
Do I need to book in advance?
Many appointments accept walk-ins. However, calling ahead is recommended to confirm availability, especially at busy times.
What if my condition is not covered by Pharmacy First?
We can still advise you and help you access the right care. We may refer you to your GP or another appropriate service if needed.
Is the UTI service available for men?
The NHS Pharmacy First UTI service is currently for eligible women only. Men with UTI symptoms should contact their GP.
Why is early treatment for shingles important?
Prompt treatment within 72 hours of rash onset can significantly reduce the severity and duration of illness, and reduces the risk of post-herpetic neuralgia (long-term nerve pain).
